"There is a need for using Iranian companies' diverse and high capabilities in the country's development projects," Rugunda said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Kampala Seyed Morteza Alavi in Kampala on Friday.
The Ugandan prime minister said that are no restrictions for the Iranian companies to participate in the country's projects.
"Possible hurdles will be removed and necessary facilities will be made available for them," he added.
Mortazavi, for his part, called for paving the necessary grounds for mutual cooperation, particularly in the banking, financial and customs affairs.
Iranian envoy also urged encouraging the Iranian investors and backing their presence in the country.
In a relevant development in late July, Mortazavi and Ugandan First Deputy Prime Minister Mussa Ali in a meeting in Kampala underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation.
During the meeting in the Ugandan capital, Mortazavi and Mussa Ali explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Mortazavi pointed to Iranian companies' technical, engineering capabilities in different economic, industry, agriculture, power plant and construction sectors, and underlined importance of using such capacities to help to development of Uganda.
The Iranian envoy also invited senior officials of Uganda to participate in swearing-in ceremony of President Rouhani slated for August 5.
Mussa Ali, for his part, underlined the necessity to increase economic cooperation and development of ties with Iran.
The two sides also considered developments in west Asia and emphasized real fight with terrorism and creating unity and brotherhood among Muslim states.
